Alpha Phi Omega is a national co-educational service organization founded on the principles of Leadership, Fellowship and Service. It provides its members the opportunity to develop leadership skills as they volunteer on their campus, in their community, to the nation, and to the organization.
Alpha Phi Omega was installed at Elmhurst College on December 21, 1986. Since that time, our brothers and sisters have been encouraged to join and be active in other fraternities/sororities, clubs, and organizations in order to foster an environment receptive of our values and open to all aspects of campus life. Our well-rounded and diverse members contribute to our uniqueness as a fraternity on campus.
Since the organization is highly committed to service, we have volunteered with the Northern Illinois Food Bank, Feed My Starving Children, Ronald McDonald House, local animal shelters, and nursing homes – just to name a few. We are also proud to support annual campus events: Operation Christmas Child, Relay for Life, Operation Write Home, LENS Walk, and TOMS Shoe Drive. Our fellowship activities include almost anything – study nights, game/movie nights, pumpkin carving or Easter egg decorating, dinner dates, etc. Every suggestion by members for service or fellowship is honored as long as it adheres to the values of the Fraternity and the College. All in all, Alpha Phi Omega is about having fun, enjoying the college experience to its fullest, and, at the same time, directing our efforts for the common good. The potential for growth, networking, and connections, not only in the fraternity, but the campus and community as a whole, are enhanced by the very nature of the founding principles of Alpha Phi Omega.
